Morrison rejected growing calls to remove statues of white leaders, including one of the country’s first prime minister, Edmund Barton, which is located near an Aboriginal burial site. Barton played a key role in drafting the national constitution, which negated Aboriginal rights.Morrison said the initial motives of protesters were “fair”, but the push for removal of the statues was being driven by political agendas.Australia on Tuesday recorded its first day without any community transmissions of COVID-19 since the crisis began. It has recorded 7,285 cases, including 102 deaths. Australian officials warned Black Lives Matter supporters they could be arrested if they breach coronavirus restrictions to take part in public protests, as debate erupted over the country’s own indigenous history.Prime Minister Scott Morrison drew strong criticism on Thursday after he said “there was no slavery in Australia” during a discussion of the early days of British settlement, which he acknowledged was “pretty brutal.”Historians, Aboriginal activists and some lawmakers expressed shock and dismay at the comments. “Slavery of indigenous, men, women and children is well documented,” said Sharman Stone, a former federal lawmaker and now politics professor at Monash University. “Slaves worked in pearling, fishing, the pastoral industries and as domestic labor.”The Black Lives Matter movement has refocused attention in Australia on the mistreatment of indigenous Australians, including Aboriginal deaths in custody.Victoria state officials confirmed on Thursday that one of eight new cases of COVID-19 reported on Thursday was a man who attended the Melbourne weekend rally. More unauthorized protests are planned for Friday.”We will start writing tickets of A$1,000 ($700) and we can use all of our powers to move people on,” New South Wales Police Commissioner Mick Fuller told 2GB Radio. “If you don’t move on, well then you’ll be arrested.” Topics :
MHI Vestas will host the Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Energy Minister Lars Christian Lilleholt and Mayor of Kerteminde Hans Luunbjerg at the company’s nacelle factory in Lindø today, 7 November, for a factory tour and discussion of the country’s offshore wind market.According to MHI Vestas, the visit comes after the company hired 284 new employees at industrial facilities across Denmark since March 2017, including Lindø, a blade manufacturing facility in Nakskov, and new power converter module assembly site in Esbjerg.Jens Tommerup, the company’s CEO, said: “We are very proud to host the Danish Prime Minister and other distinguished guests today at our factory. The highly skilled men and women who are employed at our production facilities throughout regional Denmark are a big part of Denmark’s success in offshore wind – an industry that is becoming increasingly global.”MHI Vestas’ job growth in Denmark this year came as a result of a high demand for its 9.5MW V164 platform, the company said. The V164 wind turbine was launched in June 2017, and is the most powerful serially-produced wind turbine in the world.MHI Vestas and Clemson University in South Carolina recently announced that the turbine will have all testing and verification of its gearbox and main bearings carried out at the university’s 15MW test bench. This deal marks the company’s first major investment in the United States. The V164-9.5 MW wind turbine is the turbine most likely to be used for the first round of major offshore wind projects in the United States, MHI Vestas said.

PSG King of Paris Neymar merely a star in Tite’s Brazil Raisa Simplicio Last updated 2 years ago 01:09 8/31/17 FacebookTwitterRedditcopy Getty PSG Brazil v Ecuador Colombia v Brazil Brazil Ecuador Colombia WC Qualification South America Neymar After years of criticism for their ‘Neymardependencia’, Tite has found a fluid, functional side that plays with him rather than for him COMMENTAfter a period of rest from international duty, Neymar returns to the Selecao this week as the world’s most expensive footballer – and he arrives from Paris with love. He’s back for World Cup qualifying, as Brazil host Ecuador on Thursday before heading to Colombia next week. READ MORE: Coutinho fit for Brazil | 5 great Brazil-Ecuador clashes | Brazil’s WCQ campaign so farAfter six years of consecutive international tournaments, the PSG man was given a much-needed break earlier this year, when Brazil coach Tite granted him a long-awaited summer holiday by leaving him out of a Brasil Global Tour double-header in Australia. Why Barcelona god Messi will never be worshipped in the same way in Argentina Since then he made an earth-shattering switch to Ligue 1, turning his back on Barcelona after PSG more than doubled the previous world record fee paid for a footballer when they met his €222 million release clause. With speculation among local media that he moved to the French capital to escape Lionel Messi’s shadow and become the leader and posterboy of the PSG project, it’s curious that his role with Brazil is finally heading in the opposite direction.Brazil stars play [email protected], Dani Alves and Marcelo M12 play footvolley Posted by Brasil Global Tour on Wednesday, August 30, 2017Indeed, while Neymar is PSG, he has slowly become just a star player for Tite’s Brazil – a long-overdue step down from a lonely role as the leader of a faltering team. When Tite arrived in June 2016, the buzzword that had followed the five-time world champions since ‘the 7-1’ was “Neymardependencia”, used to illustrate an approach of a struggling side for whom it appeared a case of ‘Neymar or bust’.The pressure told, notably with Neymar resigning from his role as team captain after a series of outbursts that repeatedly landed him suspensions. Previous coach Dunga had formed a dysfunctional side and an atmosphere of tension. The local media believed Neymar was treated too differently from the rest and became increasingly concerned at an increasing tendency to display petulance, one that surfaced when he directed his frustrations directly at the media.Tite transformed the atmosphere in and around the squad instantly. On the pitch, he achieved instant results, while off it he won the press back onside by extending them personal and professional courtesy.Tite also divided responsibility among the squad, most notably in his decision to rotate the captaincy around the group. Peace and harmony returned to the Selecao, and to Neymar as an individual.Ney starred in a dynamic, fluid attacking setup that saw the team push high and offer him greater opportunity for interplay with his colleagues. The joy had returned.Fit and raring to go! #Selecao #Brasil #eliminatorias2018 #LFC Welcome back, @Phil_Coutinho pic.twitter.com/msxDIBkCGn— Brasil Global Tour (@BGT_ENG) August 28, 2017There are no privileges in this Brazil. While in club football, he can focus solely on attacking with no real responsibility to mark, Tite has demanded he work as tirelessly as those around him when pressing high.Neymar remains the leader, the central figure both on and off the pitch. But he learned a different type of leadership under Tite – one that demands he also form part of the collective. With eight consecutive victories in World Cup qualifying, the results are there for all to see. That should serve him well in Russia – and in Paris.
Kolkata: City based ecologists feel that the state Forest department, as well as the Parks and Squares department of Kolkata Municipal Corporation, should strictly adhere to some basic theories of urban plantation when they go for planting trees in the city. The observation comes in the wake of nearly 150 trees toppling in the city on Tuesday evening.”Rapid urbanisation in the city is emerging as a bane for the trees. Work for underground sewerage, underground telephone cables and underground electric wires are taking place on a regular basis, which is often destroying the roots of the trees, making them vulnerable to storms and squalls,” feels noted ecologist Nandadulal Parui. Also Read – Heavy rain hits traffic, flightsAccording to Parui, trees that usually follow a lateral growth pattern can withstand greater wind velocity than those that have a vertical growth pattern. “Trees like Bakul, Jarul, Gulmohar and Shirish have a lateral growth pattern. They grow to a medium height and have the capacity to withstand high wind velocity, which trees with vertical growth pattern cannot. In urban areas, taking care of the nature of trees before plantation is of utmost importance. There are trees whose wood is tough enough to withstand the velocity of wind,” he maintained. Also Read – Speeding Jaguar crashes into Merc, 2 B’deshi bystanders killedSoumitra Paul, Assistant Professor of the Botany department of Calcutta University, however, feels that the state Forest department and KMC plants trees in a much more scientific manner than what was done ten-twelve years ago. “Trees are not getting proper space to expand because of rapid urbanisation. The soil is losing its strength to hold the trees, resulting in their felling,” Paul said. He feels that putting concrete, cement or any sort of barrier at the bottom of the tree allows it to absorb rain water or precipitation of similar nature in a better way and is favourable factor for its growth. “If a tree is situated at an upward or sloping level, the water flows downwards and the trees fail to absorb water properly. We should remember that a tree uproots because of problems in its roots that lie below the ground. It has nothing to do with cement or concrete surrounding the tree above the ground,” Paul said.It may be mentioned that in well-planned cities, especially in Europe, a minimum of 50 cubic feet of soil is provided for a tree’s root system to expand. However, in the city, hardly 10 cubic feet of soil is available on an average for a tree’s root system to grow and therefore, toppling of trees during squalls and thunderstorms is becoming a common phenomenon every year, according to the environmental experts.
LLVM team released LLVM 8.0, earlier this week. LLVM is a collection of tools that help develop compiler front ends and back ends. LLVM is written in C++ and has been designed for compile-time, link-time, run-time, and “idle-time” optimization of programs that are written in arbitrary programming languages. LLVM 8.0 explores known issues, major improvements and other changes in the subprojects of LLVM. There were certain issues in LLVM 8.0.0 that could not be fixed earlier (before this release). For instance, clang is getting miscompiled by trunk GCC, and “asan-dynamic” is not able to work on FreeBSD. Other than the issues, there is a long list of changes that have been made to LLVM 8.0.0. Non-comprehensive changes to LLVM 8.0.0 llvm-cov tool can export lcov trace files with the help of the -format=lcov option of the export command. The add_llvm_loadable_module CMake macro has been deprecated. The add_llvm_library macro with the MODULE argument can now help provide the same functionality. For MinGW, references to data variables that are to be imported from a dll can be now accessed via a stub. This will further allow the linker to convert it to a dllimport if needed. Support has been added for labels as offsets in .reloc directive. Windows support for libFuzzer (x86_64) has also been added. Other Changes LLVM IR: The Function attribute named speculative_load_hardening has been introduced. This will indicate that Speculative Load Hardening should be enabled for the function body. JIT APIs: ORC (On Request Compilation) JIT APIs will now support concurrent compilation. The existing (non-concurrent) ORC layer classes, as well as the related APIs, have been deprecated. These have been renamed with a “Legacy” prefix (e.g. LegacyIRCompileLayer). All the deprecated classes will be removed in LLVM 9. AArch64 Target: Support has been added for Speculative Load Hardening. Also, initial support added for the Tiny code model, where code and the statically defined symbols should remain within 1MB. MIPS Target: Support forGlobalISel instruction selection framework has been improved. ORC JIT will now offer support for MIPS and MIPS64 architectures. There’s also newly added support for MIPS N32 AB. PowerPC Target: This has now been switched to non-PIC default in LLVM 8.0.0. Darwin support has also been deprecated. Also, Out-of-Order scheduling has been enabled for P9. SystemZ Target: These include various code-gen improvements related to improved auto-vectorization, inlining, as well as the instruction scheduling. Other than these, changes have also been made to X86 target, WebAssembly Target, Nios2 target, and LLDB. For a complete list of changes, check out the official LLVM 8.0.0 release notes.
