Fort St. John Residents Pedalling A Cleaner, Healthier Commute

JOHN, B.C. – British Columbians across the province are ditching the car keys and hopping onto their bikes for Bike to Work Week, which is happening May 30th to June 5th.As of today, there are currently 10 riders in the BC North Peace who have registered online for Bike to Work Week. Last year saw 13 riders travel a total distance of 269 kilometres, which saved a total of 58 kilograms of greenhouse gas emissions.The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure also supports Bike to Work Week campaigns in communities throughout B.C. with $140,000 in funding this year, matching the amount provided for the 2015 campaign.- Advertisement -Cycling 10 kilometres to and from work every day would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 15,000 kilograms a year.
