Stay on target The Cinematic Sex of Marvel’s Netflix UniverseMarvel’s Axed Netflix Shows Could Be Revived by Disney We’ve only just gotten to enjoy Luke Cage on Netflix, but Marvel is looking ahead to the introduction of the next Defender: Iron Fist.According to a teaser video released Tuesday morning, Iron Fist–the story of Danny Rand, who possesses the power of Iron Fist and some serious kung-fu skills–will premiere on March 3, 2017. Considering Luke Cage was released on Friday, Netflix isn’t wasting any time.In addition, Netflix has also released the first image of Finn Jones as Danny Rand (who you’ll recognize as Loras Tyrell from Game of Thrones). It tweeted the photo with the caption, “Open heart. Closed fist.” Open heart. Closed fist. #IronFist pic.twitter.com/YW6LaZIbTY— Netflix US (@netflix) October 4, 2016According to Netflix, the Iron Fist series tells the story of Rand, who many thought dead from a plane crash 15 years ago, as he returns to New York (which would explain why he hasn’t been seen in any of the previous shows). The season will follow Rand as he struggles between his birthright and his family’s company and his duties as Iron First. The series will also star Jessica Henwick, David Wenham, Jessica Stroup, and Tom Pelphrey. We know that Henwick will be playing Colleen Wing, as evidenced by a flyer that Rosario Dawson’s character Claire Temple picks up at the end of Luke Cage. We can also assume that Dawson will be making an appearance. The other three actors will be playing members of the Meachum family, another corporate powerhouse. Wenham will be playing Harold Meachum, most likely one of the antagonists of the series.Carrie Ann Moss is also set to return in her role as the lawyer Jeri Hogarth. No word yet if Rand is going to punch a dragon in order to gain these powers like he does in the comics. Considering Marvel’s gradual move towards introducing magic into the canon, it’s in the realm of possibility.Does this mean that we’ll be seeing The Defenders–the anticipated team-up between Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist–in the latter half of 2017?
